Oliver Woolley, New Zealand Herald Article "Varsity Students Push Up City Rent"

  1. This article outlines the fluctuations experienced in New Zealand cities throughout different periods of the year. These fluctuations are generally felt only in rental properties, which should effect Welly Real Estate. Recognising these trends should allow the company to minimise the effects.

  3. In order for Welly Real Estate to benefit from what is outlined in the article (increase in demand through student population, in turn driving up rent) they must work to accommodate the increasing student population.

Without doing this the company will miss a portion of the market which is growing and also relatively stable as students will always need to rent property within the city prefrably close to their campus.

Advertising through social media or student friendly services, or in places of high student population e.g. student hostels, university. will help to capture the attention of this market and provide them with what they need whilst also providing a profit for the company.
